David's Foot Surgery

This is David on Halloween night. He had foot surgery on Wednesday, October 29th. His ankle joint was fused together. They inserted two more screws in his foot, that is a total of 4 now. He will no longer have any movement in the ankle joint. Everything seems to have gone okay, so far. He has a post op visit on Nov. 6th. He will be on crutches for 6 to 8 weeks, with his foot in a cast. He is most bummed about no showers, taking baths just isn't the same. I guess actually he is most bummed that he won't be climbing into his treestand to hunt. He did however kill about 5 deer prior to surgery; so we have venison in the freezer. His friend Bruce Burchett came to visit for about 5 days, and they went out every day. Bruce killed 4 deer in 4 days, not bad. David is keeping his spirits up through all of this. He is hoping that this surgery will end his seemingly endless pain. We try to take care of him, but he is quite stubborn. He hates to be a burden on me, as he sees me so busy with the kids and housework. But thank goodness for satellite TV and DVD movies. The wireless laptop also comes in handy. Hee, hee, if I can just keep him off Ebay we will be okay....
